Getting Started

Congratulations!! You have been accepted into the illustrious Virtual Blue virtual airline.

  1. We pride ourselves and the VA on the implementation of realism, with a slight twist.
    1. Flying in a JetBlue livery, is all business. Follow procedures and protocols explicitly.
    2. Follow all ATC instructions regardless of personal need to do something else.
  2. Head over to discord and check out our discord rules so you understand the engagement process. When you have read the rules, leave an emoji at the bottom letting us know you have read and understand.
  3. Get flying. You don’t want to be a bluehorn forever. Get your 25 hours and join the Blue Above All family by earning those stripes.
  4. Get involved. We are unique in which we don’t demand discord activity, but we need you to be active in flights. Fly. Alot.
  5. If you are interested in becoming STAFF of VirtualBlue, we have positions open and you can review them under the staff tab in the menu. When you are a Senior First Officer or above, you are able to apply for the staff position.

Simbrief

There a number of navigational tools out there that can provide real world flights, but some of them ask for money.

Here at VirtualBlue we use simbrief, owned by Navigraph. It is highly encouraged to have an account to simbrief for numerous reasons but for flight planning and utilizing real world flights, its 2nd to none for the cost – FREE.

If you are interested in learning about Simbrief and want to know how to use it to your advantage, let me or Angel know.

Cruise

Cruise Speeds

All of our planes have a cruise speed of .78M.

The A320 has a cruise of .80M.

Any codeshares can use the cruise speed of the narrow bodies of .78 and for the wide bodies or Supers, its .84M or .85M.

Required Flights

As a VirtualBlue pilot you are required to fly a flight and file the PIREP once over 30 days.

An activity reminder will be sent out in discord for those that are approaching the limit and those that are over the 30 day limit.

Those that are over – you will have 24 hours to fly a flight and File a PIREP to remain active.

Those pilots that are close, will have 7 days to fly a flight and file a PIREP to avoid being removed from the VA.

If for some unfortunate reason you are not able to complete a flight, let leadership know so we can discuss your options.
